His patients read like a who’s who of high society, ‘treating’ Kings and Queens, Hollywood legends and a parade of just about every important musician from that period. From standing in the wings ready to administer heroin at a Lenny Bruce gig to finding Mama Cass unresponsive next to a ham sandwich, he's seen it all.

Now in his 80's, he lives alone in a £30m mansion with no family and continues to be be courted by celebrities...all seemingly without regret.
